Mississippi Center for Emergency Services

Created by UMMC emergency medicine personnel as a response to Hurricane Katrina, Mississippi Center for Emergency Services (MCES) is the transfer center for all emergency transfers into UMMC. MCES staff answer over nine hundred emergency transfer calls each month from hospitals across Mississippi and western Louisiana. It provides a single point of contact for referring providers statewide to facilitate timely acceptance of their critical patients.
